Hannah & Jonathan’s Wedding – Kirkby Malzeard, North Yorkshire

-

I travelled down to the picturesque village of Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon in North Yorkshire, for Hannah and Jonathan’s wedding last weekend. The rain seemed relentless on my way to their house, but it stopped as soon as I arrived, and the sun came out! Quite a relief for a wedding with venues all within walking distance of each other!

Brides don’t come much more chilled out than Hannah. The bridal preparations at her house were calm and fun, and yet Hannah still managed to make soup, help bridesmaids with hair and makeup, and carry out a few final details for the day ahead.

The bridal party headed to the church on foot, and the ten minute walk through the village was completely charming. After the wonderfully moving ceremony, guests made their way to the reception in a meticulously decorated marquee in a nearby field, whilst Hannah, Jonathan and I headed to nearby gardens and woods for a few portraits.

Quirky games of wellie wanging, milk the cow and a coconut shy were enjoyed in the evening sun, the speeches were hilarious and tear jerking, and guests danced the night away at the disco and ceilidh. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of Hannah and Jonathan’s perfect day.

What a beautiful wedding, great images, love the walking to and fro shots especially.

I don’t know how to express how impressed I am by this body of images without resorting to intemperate language but you lifted the roof on this one James, and took all the walls out too. I’ve no idea what that means exactly as an analogy but it feels appropriate. You were absolutely EVERYWHERE, always at the right time, and it’s not just that all the images say something but the interconnections between each one speaks volumes too. This is photo-literature.

A beautiful wedding it was too :~)

Love, love, LOVE what you have done here, James. Phill said it all – you didn’t miss a moment, and captured some really unique moments and genuine emotions. You’re one to watch laddie ;)

Seriously dude, your work is EPIC. That was an inspiring set indeed.

I concur with Phill, you somehow seem to be everywhere at the right time, all tooled up for a beautiful natural light glow. Love it.

How do you do it?? you must have been exhausted – doesnt look like you missed a moment of the action. A unique wedding captured in a unique way. Brought tears to my eyes – well done James :)

Really amazing wedding James – it’s all been said above, but you’ve captured the whole day beautifully – they’re going to be such a fabulous reminder of the day and all the fun things that happened along the way. Stunning.

James you take my breath away! This is such a beautiful story I can’t find the words to say. As for being able to pick a favourite, I just can’t! Hannah and Jonathan must be blown away.

There are too many gems here to pick out favourites but I’m going to try. Love the walking shots to the church and the shot of Hannah and her parents walking hand-in-hand through the field. Amazing locations throughout the day, with such a beautiful marquee. You’ve done them proud with this photo coverage!

They are all amazing James but two stand out for me. First is the b/w shot of the two little ones in the hall, and second the wedding couple standing in front of the tree (something new starting and something that’s been around for a long time). That does it for me!

I couldn’t agree more with everyone else’s comments. The photos are just perfect James, and I’m so glad you could be a part of our special day. You were a pleasure to have around all day, and made us all feel totally at ease, whilst managing to seemingly be everywhere at once, without any of us ever really being aware of your presence! I cannot fault your level of professionalism and the quality of the service we’ve recieved so far, so thank you very very much xxxxx
