Natalie & Grant’s Wedding – Dryburgh Abbey, St. Boswells, Melrose (Part One)
- Wednesday, 1st June 2011Natalie and Grant’s families travelled from the north and south to join them for their wedding at the stunning Dryburgh Abbey and Dryburgh Abbey Hotel in St Boswells. Natalie’s bridal preparations took place at Maxton House, a very ‘home from home’ holiday cottage not far from the Abbey. With rain forecast for most of the day, there was an abundance of wellies around just in case, but not a drop of rain fell and the weather was beautiful all day. Natalie and Grant chose to have a Humanist ceremony – which is always wonderful to witness – which took place in the very atmospheric Chapter House, a beautifully preserved part of the Abbey. While their guests enjoyed a drinks reception, I took Natalie and Grant off for a wander around the amazing Abbey ruins to get some lovely natural portraits, and then later in the hotel grounds and down by the river. Everyone danced the night away at the hotel with a ceilidh and live band. Their wedding was an absolutely lovely, happy, family affair!

Natalie’s dad and her brother, Mark, did a great job of providing food for everyone

Lots of wellies waiting just in case!

Some cork popping fun (no ceilings were hurt in the making of these photos – honest!)

Dad’s duties are never over, even on their daughter’s wedding day!
