The ceremony took place in the stunning Great Hall, where Helen, her dad and bridesmaids walked down an amazing staircase before walking down the aisle. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere to the whole day, with lots of young families, heartfelt speeches, and fun dancing. Thank you, Scott and Helen, for letting me be a part of your day.

As James snapped Ryan waiting calmly in the courtyard for the outdoor ceremony to begin, I followed Suzie down to meet her dad and step-dad who both proudly walked her down the aisle to the majestic sound of the bagpipes. Goosebumps all round!

The weather was perfect all day, and guests were able to relax outside while we took Suzie and Ryan off for a wander around the grounds for some informal, romantic portraits. We were lucky enough to enjoy the wedding breakfast, and soak up some of the relaxed atmosphere before getting back to photographing the evening celebrations. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their special day.

Brides don’t come much more chilled out than Hannah. The bridal preparations at her house were calm and fun, and yet Hannah still managed to make soup, help bridesmaids with hair and makeup, and carry out a few final details for the day ahead.

The bridal party headed to the church on foot, and the ten minute walk through the village was completely charming. After the wonderfully moving ceremony, guests made their way to the reception in a meticulously decorated marquee in a nearby field, whilst Hannah, Jonathan and I headed to nearby gardens and woods for a few portraits.

Quirky games of wellie wanging, milk the cow and a coconut shy were enjoyed in the evening sun, the speeches were hilarious and tear jerking, and guests danced the night away at the disco and ceilidh. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of Hannah and Jonathan’s perfect day.

The ceremony took place at the strikingly grand Corpus Christi College Chapel, and a reception was later held at the equally grand Longstowe Hall, west of Cambridge.

Elizabeth and Stelios welcomed their guests in the Great Hall at Longstowe, with canapés and champagne served outside in the beautiful surrounding gardens. A delicious meal and celebrations were then enjoyed in the marquee. This was a very elegant and classy wedding, and I really enjoyed being a part of it. Many thanks to Elizabeth and Stelios, and to Hayley for having me along.

Marie and Callum provided a relaxed, fun filled and memorable day for their guests, and I had a really wonderful time second-shooting their wedding with Pete and Laura Lawson.

The first impression of Mavis Hall Park is this beautiful and charming entrance:

Led by a piper, the guests take a leisurely 10 minute stroll to the ceremony through the woods on the Mavis Hall Park estate. It was a wonderful way to start the day.

The lovely humanist ceremony took place in front of a beautiful and peaceful private loch.

Wellies were recommended in case of bad weather; fortunately they weren’t required.

The hardest photographs to take on the day – the dance floor was completely dark with no disco lights; the Canon 5D MKII was struggling to focus but the high ISO really helped.

The Canon 5D MKII is wonderful in low light; I had many opportunities to put it to the test during the overcast January afternoon and evening. Photography using available light (or lack of) is a joy with this camera, which suits my style perfectly.

I’m very pleased with these shots. It certainly helped that the bride, groom and wedding party all looked fantastic. They also chose to hold the reception in a stunning converted barn in a gorgeous setting. And after days of terrible weather, the sun stayed out all day for them!
